Irwin Shaw's works are enojoyable if you like novels more focused on the exploration of characters instead of plot. His most famous novel, The Young Lions, was the best of his novels. The reason for this is that this novel was the only one that incorparated character analysis and an interesting plot. Many of his novels also deal with WWII or the effects of it. Shaw also incorporates his political views in his novels, especially those concerning the media and its effects on authors, directors, actors etc.
Now that you have written your essay, we ask that you reflect on the reading portion of the experience and write 100-150 words about your author.
Think of what you write as advice for someone next year and beyond, someone who (like you were doing last fall) is thinking about choosing your author - and maybe even the same three books - to read for the assignment.
