I really enjoyed reading Doctorow's works, though taking notes on the books was a bit tedious. Some of my favorites were The March, Billy Bathgate, and The City of God, but I wouldn't recommend reading the City of God because it really doesn't connect well to his other books. Ragtime is also very important to read because it's one of his most well known books-along with Billy Bathgate. His books almost all take place in New York and have a lot of real people in them as characters, which is very interesting to read about.
Now that you have written your essay, we ask that you reflect on the reading portion of the experience and write 100-150 words about your author.
Think of what you write as advice for someone next year and beyond, someone who (like you were doing last fall) is thinking about choosing your author - and maybe even the same three books - to read for the assignment.
