I enjoyed reading the books The Tenth Circle and Nineteen minutes for many reasons. For one she writes enjoyable books to read, because she writes about things that could happen to her readers at anytime, usually its about tragedys so if you like reading books about tragedy then shes the author for you! I really enjoyed writing my paper because you could easily fit her books together and found similar themes. Everyone told me that Jodi was hard to write about but i found it easy and also enjoyable because it was like you were writing about a movie. I would suggest planning your reading ahead of time because it will catch up to you and all of a sudden you will have 100 pages to write in one night. overall jodi is an amazing author to chose for your author thesis!

I really enjoyed reading Picoult's novels! They were an easy read and very interesting. I read the two novels Nineteen Minutes and The Tenth Circle. Both had similar themes and connected very well. However they were sad and disturbing at times. I do suggest planning out your reading schedule ahead of time though because the books were very long. Overall reading the books was fun and the paper was pretty easy! The notes were the hardest for me.

Picking Jodi Picoult wasn't that hard for me. The previous summer I had read one of her books and I loved it. Picoult portrays very heart warming topics that really hit home to you. The topics that she writes about really make you think about your own life. The two books that I read were Change of Heart and Handle With Care. Both of the books had a common theme through out the book. The novels were a litte on the longer side, but I really enjoyed them. What helped me was planning on what to read each week. Jodi Picoult is a good author to pick, because when you reading her books you can relate to a lot of her books and I liked novels about family and topics that you can relate too. Before picking what books to do make sure that you can connected the two books are similar because her novels are a lot different from one another. But some novels are similar that you can relate to too Jodi Picoult is a good author to do for your author thesis.

I really enjoyed reading Jodi Picoult's books. The two books I read were My Sister's Keeper and Change of Heart. Jodi Picoult's books are long books, but I felt because her books are good I did not feel that the books were long. The reason I chose her books was because I never had read any of her books and I heard that her books were really good so I thought this would be a good chance to read some of her books. Before I read the books I made a list of how many pages a night I should read and I found that really helpful. And I made sure I had good and detail notes and I made sure I had a lot of quotes and that really helped with coming up with themes for my books. Also the books I read were very similar so I did not find it hard to come up with themes. I think people that love inspiring books that give people a new definition of life and hope should read Jodi Picoult's books. If you plan and take good nots and have teachers read your papers this project will be fun and easy.

Her novels are really enjoyable to read, they are page turners. They are mainly about relationships and generally cover serious topics. Each chapter is narrated by a different character but it is not confusing at all, in fact it makes the reading more enjoyable. I read the books My Sister's Keeper, Harvesting the Hearts and Lone Wolf, these books were really enjoyable and never boring, it was easy to find a common theme between all three novels as there were many themes throughout. The essay itself is not that bad just as long you are on top of things and connect back to your thesis. I would really recommend Jodi Picoult because it made this assignment fun to do. (Dubé)

I enjoyed reading Picoult's novels. I was very interested on the topics she writes about. Writing the paper was easier than i though because i liked the books. Its important to choose your books carefully to make sure the all have a common theme. I found struggle reading my last book "Change of Heart" because i was not very interested on what it was bout therefore when i was writing about that book i found it more challenging. Its a great idea to pick Jodi Picoult for author thesis!

American Author Thesis

Now that you have written your essay, we ask that you reflect on the reading portion of the experience and write 100-150 words about your author.

Think of what you write as advice for someone next year and beyond, someone who (like you were doing last fall) is thinking about choosing your author - and maybe even the same three books - to read for the assignment.
