To whom it may concern, I highly suggest reading Junot Díaz for American Author Thesis. His books were really intriguing, written from a unique Dominican viewpoint of Yunior, and contained interesting material, which made the whole process go a lot faster. The works of literature I read were Drown and This is How You Lose Her, and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. Although Díaz’s novels were really well composed, at times it was difficult to identify greater meaning to his writings. When I finished the book I would notice that I did not have enough notecards because while reading the books, they were more entertaining than symbolic. It was also a struggle to connect some of the short stories within his novel to each other, but the narrator was constant throughout all novels which made it much easier to comprehend and connect the works.

American Author Thesis

Now that you have written your essay, we ask that you reflect on the reading portion of the experience and write 100-150 words about your author.

Think of what you write as advice for someone next year and beyond, someone who (like you were doing last fall) is thinking about choosing your author - and maybe even the same three books - to read for the assignment.
